In this setup there are 6 feeders. Two suet feeders hang on either side of the post to satisfy the perpetually hungry woodpeckers. We get everything from downy (probably the most common feeder bird here) to pileated woodepckers (usually a daily visitory) at these logs, and they eat about 3 plugs of peanut butter suet a day. The feeder in the middle with the yellow on the bottom is a thistle feeder for the finches. Behind the post and not really visible is a peanut feeder which used mostly by nuthatches and chickadees. The gazebo on top has a mix of sunflower and safflower for the cardinals, grosbeaks, etc. On the black pole is a hummingbird feeder. They are so fast it's unlikely they'll be captured on this webcam. Next to that is an oriole feeder, with two spikes for fruit and there is grape jelly in the middle. Attached to the pole itself is a blue dish which contains mealworms. Further in the background (visible behind the hummingbird feeder) is a nest box which the chickadees are currently using.
Please feel free to send me a message to the address displayed at the top of the camera image. In case you can't read it, it's feedercam-AT-overlookcircle.org (make the appropriate substitution of the @ symbol.) If you see something interesting here, please copy (right click on most browsers to save, then attach to an email) the image and send it to me! I'm particularly interested to see if any indigo buntings show up. Thanks for visiting the Overlook Circle feedercam! -Liz
